After 27 days since the volcanic eruption, the ‘Cumbre Vieja’ continues its explosive phase showing strombolian mechanism. The two large lava flows continue to flow from the cone and since Tuesday there have been evacuations affecting 1,200 people, according to census data. However, the progress of the laundry has slowed down after burying a supermarket and having crossed a football field in the La Laguna neighborhood, in Los Llanos de Aridane. The municipality has been deserted after the evictions while the presence of two fronts of the north wash slow down due to the increasing viscosity derived from the material that destroys the buildings.

   For more than three weeks, the La Palma volcano has been expelling lava and experts do not know when the eruption will end. So far, almost 7,000 people have been evicted from their homes and more than 1,500 buildings have been destroyed by the advance of lava.
